MELIS+DAINON

Photography & Casting

NYC-based photographers & casting directors, Melis+Dainon, seek to explore the relationship between identity and style, with special focus on eccentricities. Their work boasts a mix of street, culture, fashion, and beauty images that embody the duo’s philosophy - “be brave or be invisible” - as they analyze people and societies through the mediums of photography & videography.

The Eccentrics

“The Eccentrics” is our newest project dedicated to featuring the people who dare to be different. Through our work, we shine a spotlight on the individuals who live up to our motto, “be brave, or be invisible.” By shifting focus away from fashion and toward style, we explore the ways in which individuals express themselves through their presentation to the world. Style is not about money, labels, or prestige, like fashion often can be. Rather, it’s about embracing the opportunity to showcase your personality, thoughts, feelings, and identity through the items you choose to wear (or not to wear). Style is for everyone.

Jess Miller exemplifies the type of human that intrigues us and makes our work rewarding. Standing at 6’2” tall, Jess commands attention, and their spotlight continues to brighten since signing with The Lions NY as their first curve model. Jess uses their new platform as an opportunity to make an impact by sharing their perspectives as a queer person of faith. Jess is also a grad student at Union Theological Seminary, where they explore the chasm between faith & the queer community. We appreciate Jess’ warm presence, thoughtful approach to life, & the absolute openness that they bring to their art.

Bravery isn’t optional, it’s the price of entry for brands as people’s expectations rise and attention becomes harder to capture.

NY VIBES

Midtown

NYC is rich, alive, and vibrant. We traveled and moved like nomads for over a decade, always believing that the next place might become home. However, each city would eventually become dull or remained too distant for us to warm to it in a way that a real home would. Then, we found ourselves here. We’ve never felt such a sense of belonging, of immediate identity, or of constant inspiration as we do here. No matter how many cities we live in going forward, New York is our chosen home.
